NEWLY REMODELED CORAL TOWERS – aka “The Coral”:

In August 2016, the Atlantis resort announced a huge 30 million dollar renovation project and ever since then I have been anxiously awaiting the debut of the rebranded, remodeled CORAL TOWERS and “fully transformed” MARINA VILLAGE (cute restaurant and shopping area at the resort).   I have been receiving updates and pictures all year but was excited to check out the progress myself last week while visiting the resort.  Happy to say, everything is progressing as scheduled and looks fresh and amazing!  They are targeting a mid July opening for the new Coral rooms and a fall debut of the re-designed Marina Village.

The New Marina Village:

The new Marina Village will have a focus on authentic Bahamian experiences, featuring local artists and seasonal festivals with music from Bahamian musicians.  It will also debut an AUTHENTIC FISH FRY, along with conch salad and a beer tasting hall.  This is very exciting and is all part of the Atlantis’ “Come to Life” campaign looking to honor and highlight the unique Bahamian culture .  Great idea!   I loved that the Atlantis employees now have name tags stating their name and where they are from in the Bahamas.  It was fun to chat and learn about the different Islands of the Bahamas.

The Newly Remodeled Coral Towers at the Atlantis:

Coral TowersThe Coral Towers (newly branded as “The Coral”) will cater towards families and is an excellent location for the beach, pools, Marina Village, casino and the lazy river.  The Coral Tower was in need of a facelift and Atlantis is delivering!   The lobby will be completely redesigned with a family friendly soda fountain and Gelateria.  Guest rooms and suites have been gutted and completely updated.

The brand NEW POOL at “The Coral” is going to be an amazing  centerpiece!  Beautifully designed in white and blue, the pool will feature private cabanas and an elevated SWIM UP BAR to grab family friendly ice pops and signature drinks.  I can taste the Mango/Pineapple/Coconut ice pops right now – Yum!   I love that the Atlantis is always reinvesting and updating the resort and “The Coral” will not disappoint.

“The Coral” is about a 10 minute walk to Aquaventure Waterpark.  There is also a free shuttle that runs often between the towers. Coral Towers is steps from Atlantis Beach West (my favorite) and all of the rooms have a FULL BALCONY.  A lot of my clients with small children like to have a full balcony so they can put the kids to bed, shut the door and sit out on the balcony while watching the sunset and enjoying a cocktail.  Sounds like a perfect night to me!  Welcome “The Coral”!

I am so excited to share with my readers tips from my latest family trip to the Atlantis Bahamas Resort.  Each week, I will post insider information on the best rooms/tower to stay in, kids activities, places to eat, entertainment, how to make the most out of the casino and overall which places/things are not to be missed!

Atlantis Bahamas Rooms and Towers:

Royal Tower West

I booked my room this trip in the Royal Tower West. This is the first time I stayed in Royal Tower West (I usually stay in the Royal Tower East).  Both Royal Tower East and Royal Tower West have French Balconies (you can open the door and walk out on the balcony to take pictures and selfies but it is not a full balcony that can have chairs on it).   Royal Tower West does have a few full balconies on the corner rooms on a few of the floors.  West tower is little quieter than the Royal Tower East – elevator banks and general foot traffic was less busy in the West tower.   I have stayed in both the East and West tower.  Royal Tower East is also a very central location for the waterpark and main Atlantis attractions and also has spectacular water views.    East is slightly closer to the casino and Marina Village. West is perfect if you plan on using the Kids Club and the fitness center.  We had a wonderful water view (could see the lush green of the entire resort plus the waterslides and ocean from the balcony).  Pleasantly surprised to find 2 comfortable white robes in the closet.   Our room had 2 queen beds.  We requested a rollaway bed and that is no extra charge.  There was plenty of space to move around the room  – even with the rollaway bed.

Atlantis Room Tip:

Rooms in the West tower with a full balcony are hard to get and go quickly but you can always ask for a balcony room upon check-in and maybe you will get lucky.

Atlantis Bahamas Water-slides and Pools:

Pools are open from 9 am to 7 pm (Water-slides open at 10 am).   We were there at the end of June (peak summer vacation time) and although we waited in line for most of the slides it was not too long of a wait and the lines go quickly.  We liked to park our stuff (towel, sunscreen, room key) at the Royal Baths pool (located very close to Royal Tower West) and then took off for the water-slides.  All the water-slides are right there in the resort – very easy!

Several times our 12 year old daughter took off to do some rides on her own while my husband and I relaxed at the pool.  We also bought a Nerf football for the pool and my daughter and husband loved tossing the football around the Royal Baths pool.  Tons of room to play with fun music playing.

Me on the Leap of Faith slide!

With 18 pools and 10 water rides there is something for all ages.  The best waterslide and the one you always see on TV is the Leap of Faith.  It looks crazy scary and intimidating but trust me – it is a thrill!  Do not leave the Atlantis without experiencing this ride.  I promise you will love it!  For the little kids (under 48”) there are several kids pools/areas with mini water-slides – almost like a mini version of the big stuff.

Atlantis Pools Tip:

We loved going on the water-slides at the end of the day (5-6:30 pm) when lines were very short.  Several times my daughter and I would ride down and then hop right back in line and go down again.  Who can resist going twice in a row when there is no line?!  Have to take advantage of this time frame.

What People Are Saying:

"I have been working with Dana Rubin for over 10 years, and she has always giving me 100 percent satisfaction when scheduling my trips to Las Vegas. She has returned my calls if she was not immediately available within a short time, and made the necessary arrangements for Casino accommodations to my requested schedule, and made a follow up call after I returned from my trip to see if everything went well with the accommodations. I have highly recommended Dana Rubin to my friends." -Gerald L.

"Excellent, [Dana] has helped our group and myself many times during the years. Saves me trying to survey all the sites and compare" -Mike M.

"Dana booked a trip for my family to the Atlantis. she was amazing. Dana planned every part of the trip. This left me more time to enjoy the experience with my kids. I will absolutely keep using her and recommend her to my family and friends. Thanks for a great trip." D.A.
